Starting January 1, 2026, Ontario will adopt a new recycling system managed by Circular Materials. This means consistent rules across the province and more items accepted in your blue bin.

New recyclable items include black plastic containers, beverage cups, deodorant and toothpaste tubes, frozen juice containers, and ice cream tubs. Plus, all major categories - paper, plastic, metal, and glass - are included.
