The successful candidate will be a dynamic, outgoing individual with a minimum of two years’ work experience in park or facility maintenance. This is a part-time permanent position specifically covering day shifts on weekends and holidays. The Municipality provides a competitive salary and benefit package.

The Operations Parks & Facilities Tradesperson reports directly to a Supervisor and will carry out the winter/summer maintenance and operation of parks and recreational facilities and other duties as directed.

Qualifications 

  • Successful completion of a Secondary School Diploma or equivalent approved combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience park or facility cleaning, or, maintenance.
  • General understanding of facility, parks, and trail maintenance.
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license, free of serious offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
  • Class D license and heavy equipment experience considered an asset
  • Ability to perform manual labour work in potentially adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours may be required.
  • First Aid, CPR, WHIMIS will be provided if required
  • Ability to lift up to 25kg

 

A valid driver’s License, acceptable driving record, and clean criminal record check will be required prior to hire. 

The Municipality offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package. The scheduled hours for this position are 16 to 20 hours per week (on weekends and holidays) and the salary is $28.98 to $34.61 (depending on experience) per hour.
