Current Status
A Flood Warning remains in effect for our area, including:
- Lake Nipissing shoreline (including Callander Bay)
- La Vase River (downstream of Lakeshore Drive)
- Parks Creek
- Mattawa River (downstream of Hurdman Dam)=
This means that flooding is already happening or could happen, and residents should take precautions. =

What’s Happening
- Water levels in Lake Nipissing remain above normal levels and are slowly declining.
- Rivers and streams are still high due to spring snowmelt and runoff.
- A rainfall event (up to ~30 mm) is expected, which could slow improvements.
- Wind conditions may cause wave action and localized flooding along shorelines, especially in Callander Bay.
What This Means for Residents
- Flooding continues in some areas, and more could occur.
- Properties near the shoreline or low-lying areas may be at risk.
- Parks, conservation areas, and some locations may be closed due to flooding.
Safety Reminders
Please continue to take precautions:
- Stay away from shorelines, rivers, and creeks—banks are slippery and unstable.
- Keep children and pets away from the water.
- Watch for road closures or flooded areas.
- Monitor your property if you live in a flood-prone or low-lying area.
