🍪🔥 Holiday Safety Starts in the Kitchen! 🔥🍪

12 Days of Holiday Fire Safety - Day 7

Little hands (and paws!) plus holiday heat can spell trouble—so let’s keep the season safe and sweet:

Create a safety zone. Teach kids to stay one metre (three feet) away from stoves and ovens.
Explain the “why.” Hot surfaces can cause burns—help them understand.
Assign safe tasks. Mixing, decorating, and taste-testing are perfect jobs for little helpers (with supervision!).
Turn pot handles inward. Prevent spills and accidents.
Keep cords tucked away. No dangling cords for curious kids or pets to grab.
Cool burns fast. Run cool water over the wound for 3–5 minutes. For severe burns, seek medical attention.

🎁 The holidays should leave warm memories—not lasting injuries.
Protect your loved ones. Protect your home. Together, let’s keep Ontario safe this holiday season!

From communities across the province—here’s to a joyful, fire-safe holiday!
