Little hands (and paws!) plus holiday heat can spell trouble—so let’s keep the season safe and sweet:
✅ Create a safety zone. Teach kids to stay one metre (three feet) away from stoves and ovens.
✅ Explain the “why.” Hot surfaces can cause burns—help them understand.
✅ Assign safe tasks. Mixing, decorating, and taste-testing are perfect jobs for little helpers (with supervision!).
✅ Turn pot handles inward. Prevent spills and accidents.
✅ Keep cords tucked away. No dangling cords for curious kids or pets to grab.
✅ Cool burns fast. Run cool water over the wound for 3–5 minutes. For severe burns, seek medical attention.
🎁 The holidays should leave warm memories—not lasting injuries.
Protect your loved ones. Protect your home. Together, let’s keep Ontario safe this holiday season!
