WINTER PARKING NOTICE:
Under the provisions of By-law 2019-1607, parking restrictions during winter maintenance and snow control will be enforced from November 1st to March 31st between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
No person shall park a vehicle in such a manner as to obstruct or hinder the snowplow or other vehicles engaged in the removal of snow. Any vehicle so parked will be towed away at the owner’s expense, without notice to the owner.
There can be no parking in a way that will hinder snow removal vehicles, including on the side of the road. This allows for snowplows and removal equipment to operate efficiently, and also ensures that no vehicles get buried in snow plow drifts.
Vehicles hindering snow removal vehicles can be removed by the Municipality at the owner’s expense. Please help us ensure the best service delivery for all our residents.
WINTER SNOW CONTROL NOTICE:
Under the provisions of By-law 2019-1607, no person shall deposit or cause to be deposited any snow or ice upon any portion of any highway or bridge located within the territorial limits of The Corporation of the Municipality of Callander.
This includes moving snow from the road allowance portion of your property onto Municipal or neighbouring properties. This is important for ensuring that visibility isn’t reduced for any residents when exiting their driveway, or causing increased need for snow removal in certain areas.
Every person who contravenes any of the provisions of this by-law is guilty of an offence punishable in accordance with the provisions of the Provincial Offences Act. Please see By-law 2022-1778 for applicable penalties.
Any other questions or concerns, please e-mail the By-Law Enforcement Officer at bylaw@callander.ca
