TAKE NOTE that the Corporation of the Municipality of Callander will hold the statutory Public Meeting under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, C.P.13 as amended, to inform the public and provide an opportunity for public comment on a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment to the Municipality’s Zoning By-Law 2014-1407.
This notice has been sent to you as you are either the applicant, an assessed owner of a neighboring property within 120 meters of the subject lands, or a person or organization
deemed to have an interest in this application.
DATE AND LOCATION OF PUBLIC MEETING
Date: Tuesday January 25th, 2022
Public Meeting: 6:30 pm
Location: There will be no in-person meetings. This meeting will be conducted in an electronic format only using the ZOOM application.
SUBJECT PROPERTY: The subject property is located on Latour Crescent with no civic address and is legally described as Part of Lot 10, Concession 18, Part 1 on Reference Plan 42R-18352, Municipality of Callander, District of Parry Sound.
PURPOSE OF THE ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT: The subject property is currently zoned Rural (RU). The applicant is seeking a Zoning By-law Amendment to rezone the property from Rural (RU) to Institutional (I) in order to permit the development of a place of worship.
EFFECT OF THE BY-LAW AMENDMENT: The proposed By-law would allow the subject lands to be developed as a place of worship and any other Institutional uses.
HOW THE PUBLIC CAN ACCESS THE MEETING
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Council has passed By-laws No. 2020-1649 and 2020-1661 that amend the Municipality of Callander Procedural By-law to permit electronic participation in meetings for Council, Local Boards and Committees. Therefore, there will be no in-person meeting; this meeting will be conducted in an electronic format only using the ZOOM application. Members of the public may watch the meeting as it is livestreamed through our meeting portal and YouTube. Instructions for watching the live stream will be posted with the meeting agenda at https://callander.civicweb.net/Portal/. Should you wish to present any comments, concerns, or objections, you must contact the Planning Administrator at email@example.com to register no later than 4:00 pm of the day of the meeting. Presenters will be provided with instructions on how to join the meeting in advance. You may also submit written comments at this e-mail address which may be read at the Meeting for the record. All comments must be provided by 4:00 pm of the day of the meeting.
If you wish to be notified of the decision of Council in respect of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment, you must make a written request to the Planning Administrator, P.O. Box 100, Callander, Ontario P0H 1H0. Any interested party may request a copy of the decision. This will also entitle you to be advised of a possible Ontario Land Tribunal Hearing. The decision of this Zoning By-law Amendment may be appealed to the Ontario Land Tribunal by the Applicant or another member of the public. Please refer to ZBLA 06-2021.
If a person or public body files an appeal of a decision of the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Callander, in respect of the proposed Comprehensive Zoning By-Law but does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to Council before the proposed Comprehensive Zoning By-law is adopted, the Ontario Land Tribunal may dismiss all or part of the appeal.
