Message from the Mayor - March 23, 2021 (click to view PDF link)
There is more great news for our District this week as we move into the “Yellow-Protect” zone. We are so grateful for our small business owners who, under this zone, will be able to open their doors and accommodate more customers. More information on what each zone means can be found here: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/zones-and-restrictions. The municipality will be contacting the Health Unit this week to ensure necessary protocols are in place for rentals at the Community Centre. If you are looking to rent the facility, please contact the municipal office at 705-752-1410, Ext. 300.
Vaccines are being distributed and we will do our best to keep our residents posted on new information as we are informed. The Community Control Group is working diligently on a communication plan with the Health Unit to get better, more up-to-date information, moving forward. Council has passed a resolution allowing vaccine clinics to be hosted at the Community Centre, should there be a need.
The Recreation Committee continues to post weekly activity challenges for families to take part in. We are enjoying seeing the photos of our Callander families taking part in this initiative. More information can be found on the Municipality’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/MunicipalityOfCallander/
As always, and I cannot stress this enough, continue to support our local businesses where you can and please continue to follow all safety protocols, as recommended. Stay safe.
Mayor Robb Noon
