Message from the Mayor - March 12, 2021 (Click to View PDF Link)
It was great news for our District this past week that we were able to move out of lockdown, and into the COVID-19 response framework. Our District is currently in the “Red-Control” zone. More information on what each zone means can be found here: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/zones-and-restrictions.
It has been great to see some of our businesses were able to open their doors again. This continues to show our communities resolve, and our residents being vigilant and following all safety protocols. We thank you and hope that this can continue, to prevent further lockdowns in our area.
It was great to see families enjoying the remainder of the season at the Bill Barber rink, and we appreciate that posted rules were abided by. Unfortunately, this warm weather spell has broken the seal on the ice surface and the Municipality has had to make the difficult decision to close the rink. Although it was a very short season, we, as a Council, are happy that it was well-used.
The Recreation Committee continues to post weekly activity challenges for families to take part in. We are enjoying seeing the photos of our Callander families taking part in this initiative. More information can be found on the Municipality’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/MunicipalityOfCallander/
As always, and I cannot stress this enough, continue to support our local businesses where you can and please continue to follow all safety protocols, as recommended. Stay safe.
Mayor Robb Noon
